Obituary: James “Jim” Stell, Buffalo Springs TX

James “Jim” Donaldson Stell, 93, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at his home in Buffalo Springs, Texas.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, January 4, 2019, at the Pleasant Mound Free Will Baptist Church in Buffalo Springs, Texas. Burial will follow at the Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm -7:30 pm at the Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas.

Jim was born September 4, 1925, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Jim and Ruby Stell. He married Nell Fuller Stell on June 13, 1953. They made their home in Buffalo Springs, Texas. They had three children: Susan, Shara, and Jay.

Jim served in the US Navy during World War II. After the war, he was a sheet metal worker, taught sheet metal apprentice school, and ranched throughout his working life. He was a member of the Pleasant Mound Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for over 60 years.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joe Dan Stell and Pat Stell, and his wife of 52 years, Nell Fuller Stell.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan and husband Gary Williamson of Lee Summit, Missouri; Shara and husband Kevin Bookout of Blackwell, Oklahoma; son, Jay and wife, Donna Stell of Buffalo Springs, Texas; grandchildren, Allison and husband Sam Simmons; Kara and husband Rocky Auterson; Zach Williamson; Abby Williamson; and 6 great-grandchildren.
